The primary purpose of Infection Control is to establish guidelines to follow in the prevention and spread of communicable diseases. All infection control policies and procedures are followed to assure high quality care.
Collects and Monitor critical indicators for each department monthly. Keep an accurate log of all monthly statistics. Meets with department director quarterly to discuss problems or changes with monthly critical indicators.
Responsibilities:
- The Infection Control coordinator analyzes data of client’s infections for trends, appropriate treatment, risk factors and reporting.
- Maintains up to date policy and procedures regarding infection control and makes recommendations to leadership for revisions on at minimum an annual basis.
- Provides training and education to staff related to infection control and safety according to accepted current practices.
- Reports communicable diseases to the Office of Public Health within 72 hours of identification.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid, unencumbered Louisiana RN/LPN license.
- BLS certification.
- 2+ years experience in infection control
