YOUR HOSPITAL BILL

As routine practice, when appropriate, the hospital will attempt to collect all known patient expenses upon the patient’s registration. Our initial request for payment will include deductibles and co-payments, however the amount of all charges may not be known or available at the time of admissions or discharge, and it is possible that charges may be added to your bill after discharge. Any overpayment will be refunded.

ACCOUNT PAYMENT

Patients who are under insured and may have a large balance due may call the business office to discuss mutually acceptable payment arrangements.

You may call our business office at 225-222-6111 to discuss payment options, or ask questions about your bill. The business office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM.

PROCESSING YOUR BILL

If you have current insurance coverage, our hospital billing department will bill your insurance company after your visit. Your insurance company should pay your hospital bill within 45 days. The hospital may request your help in contacting your insurance company if payment is delayed. There may be times when your insurance company needs additional information from you. Please respond as quickly as possible so payment is not delayed. You will receive a statement from the hospital for any balance due after your insurance company pays the hospital’s bill.

PHYSICIAN BILLING

Health Care Services may be provided to you at network health care facility by facility-based physicians who are not in your health plan. You may be responsible for payment of all or part of the fees for those out-of-network services, in addition to applicable amounts due for co-payments, coinsurance, deductibles and non-covered services
